In 2014, I founded Girl Up Qatar, the UN Foundation campaign's first branch in the country. I was recognized as one of the BBC's 100 Women, named a #GirlHero by the Malala Fund, and spoke at the World Innovation Summit for Education.
In 2015, I was appointed to Girl Up's global Teen Advisory board for a year-long term. In 2016, I attended the Youth Assembly at the UN as a Youth Delegate for the U.S., and gained exposure to the work of the UNDP, UNICEF, the Malala Fund, Girl Effect, and a number of other global organizations as a Girl Up teen advisor. In 2017, I continued my work as a Youth Delegate by participating in UN events, such as the Commission on the Status of Women. In 2018, I was selected to partake in the Global Thinkers Forum's Telemachus mentorship program and became a member of the Student Advisory Board for the 1,000 Dreams Fund. |
In 2019, I began my research on sexual violence targeting women political leaders and became an intern at Women without Borders.
In 2020, I became a Community Engagement Intern at All in Together. I completed my undergraduate thesis on online threats of sexual violence and harassment facing women politicians globally and began an MRes in Social Research at UCL. In 2021, I became a Research Intern at #ShePersisted and Data in Action, LLC. In 2022, I became a Program Associate at #ShePersisted and completed my MRes degree. In 2023, I began working at the Tech Diplomacy Network, focusing on gender equality and communications and started as a student in UCL's Social Science MPhil/PhD program. In 2024, I became a Project Manager at #ShePersisted. |
